Late His Royal Majesty Igwe Michael Ositadimma Okoye was born in December 25th 1926 at Aguogba – Adabebe Village Amawbia. He was born to the family of Okoye Nwika in Oguluwa kindred. His mother Nwangbankwo hails from Nibo Town in Ezeoye Village. She was a daughter of Erike Family.
Late His Majesty started his primary school at Port Harcourt, later to St. Theresa’s Catholic School Umuahia, then he came down home and continued at St. Matthew’s Primary School Amawbia, he finished his primary education at Central School Aguogba, Adabebe Village Amawbia. He proceeded to New Bethel College Onitsha and finished at Kings College Onitsha. Late His Majesty sat for Cambridge Exams in 1949 and was successful. He gained his first employment in 1951 with African Continental Bank Ltd. He attended promotional causes and rose to the rank of Branch Manager and later to a Regional Manager of A.C.B. He served in many states of Nigeria like: Kano, Marduguri, Jos, Aba and Port Harcourt. He retired in Kano in 1962. He joined a contracting firm in Kaduna called Bronu Construction Company, he left the company as a Senior Manager during the Civil War and returned home.
He got married to Miss Comfort Odumodu in 1961. Miss Comfort hails from Enuoji Village Amawbia town but she died the same year in pregnancy labour with her baby. In 1962, His Majesty got married again to Miss Augusta Chiaka Iruanya who hails from Egbu-Owerri, Imo State. Augusta’s mother is the first child of Mr. Julius Kachi in Umuoneli Kindred in Ngene Village Amawbia. Augusta Okoye died in June 1992. She had nine children: two boys and seven girls namely:

Late His Majesty was chosen as the King of Amawbia by all Amawbia General Conference in 1976 and he performed Ekwu (Nze) title the same year. He took Ozo title in 1977 and was initiated into Ichie Order in 1978. Late His Majesty has performed several Ofala Ceremonies. He is a member of Anambra State Council of Traditional Rulers and he is the oldest living traditional ruler in Anambra State today. He is Isi Ichie Nze na Ozo Amawbia.
