I…………………………………………………………….a citizen of Amawbia having been installed as the Okpaligwe of Amawbia, do hereby solemnly declare that I will at times, faithfully discharge the functions of my office as Okpaligwe of Amawbia in accordance with the provisions of the Constitution of Amawbia Town Union dealing with the Traditional Ruler of Amawbia Town.

I will preserve truth and justice and observe, obey and uphold the customs and traditions of Amawbia Town. I will protect the interests and integrity of Amawbia Community and Town, which I will always place above those of any other town, or person or section of Amawbia Town. I will protect, defend and uphold the Constitution of Amawbia Town Union.

I will relinquish the stool of Okpaligwe of Amawbia whenever so required by the Amawbia Community in accordance with the provisions of the Constitution of Amawbia Town.

Finally, I pledge my loyalty to the Amawbia Community, the Government of Anambra State and the Federal Government of Nigeria.
